Intellectual property’s importance is often overlooked. It was as recently as March this year that our Business Minister, Baroness Neville-Rolfe said “students should have a basic understanding of intellectual property (IP) as a key part of building a successful, innovative future for the UK economy”. The right to be accompanied – falling into a trap

In the case of Martin John Stevens vs. University of Birmingham it was held that the University of Birmingham was in breach of the duty of trust and confidence it had with its employee when it refused to allow Mr. Stevens, a medical professor, to be accompanied to an investigatory meeting by a representative of the Medical Protection Society (MPS), because the latter was not a fellow employee or trade union member.
